INTERVIEWING

Interviewing is a vastly under-appreciated skill in documentary work.  A great interview is a piece of gold to any documentary filmmaker.

Great interviewing starts with deep research.  It means finding the right characters for your specific story. Subjects can be reluctant.  They can be skeptical and chances are, pretty media savvy.

Convincing them to open up is an art.

We can talk about where to set your interview, how to light, shoot and record it.  And we'll talk about how these choices best serve your story.  I'm an expert interviewer and can teach you how to frame a question and guide an interview.  I'll encourage you to listen and teach you how to push a few buttons.

Make eye contact.  Be Curious. Have fun.
